Drawing Saguaros: Giants of the Desert 5/2

Spend time to really understand this magnificent giant of our desert, the saguaro cactus as we listen, observe and draw. Visually analyze cross sections and details, such as dried flowers, fruit and spines by drawing them with a scientific eye. Understand more about the life cycle of the saguaro as well as the animals/birds and insects who depend upon it for food and shelter from an ASDM docent lecture. Then practice drawing living specimens on the museum grounds, paying attention to proportion and growth patterns, as you consider the saguaro as living home to many species.
