"Join professional artists Lori and Jo Andersen to learn this versatile print making process. The Gum Arabic transfer printing process is basically low-tech lithography. Students will learn how to print transfers without a press. We will be working with Gum Arabic (a non-toxic fluid), oil-based printmaking inks, and water. The images we will be working from are toner-based copies (think Kinkos) of your original drawings, text, or photos. This process is great for printing your images onto collage, decorative papers, and artists’ books. This fun and playful process allows you to create with different ink colors, patterns and textures. We will be exploring the many possibilities of Gum Arabic Transfer printing. What to bring? Paper you may want to try printing on, photos or (mirror image) text printed with toner ink and a work apron.
